Taking a shower is synonymous with cleanliness, and more: it is also a pleasant experience that helps us relax and "disconnect" from the outside world by taking time for ourselves. Removing impurities from your body is a pleasant sensation as well as a being healthy habit.
When we take a shower, we remove dead skin cells and sebum (greasy fat). But how often is showering recommended?
To answer this question, you must first take into consideration the type of skin you have: delicate skin could become dry or irritated if subjected to frequent/daily washing. Less sensitive skin could indeed benefit from a shower every day. However, it is not only important to know how often to shower, but also - and perhaps even more important - how to do it properly.
How to wash yourself correctly
Removing dead skin cells should be done using a special exfoliating sponge: apply medium pressure and make small rotations with the sponge (as you would when giving a light massage).
Once a week, it would be ideal to apply a scrub (a granular cleanser) for a much more thorough cleaning of any dead skins and skin cells. As to the question of whether to use hot or cold water to wash yourself... the best choice is somewhere in between.
In fact, using lukewarm water is best: cold water cannot effectively clean the impurities present in the oily layers of the skin - especially if have clogged skin pores or suffer from acne, for example. On the other hand, excessively hot water can cause burns and skin damage. We therefore recommend that you take a shower for about five minutes - even if you have long hair - in lukewarm water every day.
