When this video was put in circulation everyone praised the beauty of the contrast in colors between these two streams and bodies of water. 

The creators of the video, however, failed to explain that what we see is not only the place where the waters of the Mississippi River meet the Gulf of Mexico but it is also the largest "dead zone" of the United States!

In fact, this area is called a "dead zone", because due to an ecological imbalance the nutrients in the waters of the river have such low levels of oxygen that the area cannot sustain the life of the marine ecosystems that are found on the seabed . . .
