Bridges are a great opportunity for architects and designers to give free rein to their creativity.

In fact, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, in England, is one of those cases where engineering has been successfully combined with art and design. This tilt bridge consists of two semicircles, one hanging high up in the air and a lower one that is flat used for pedestrians and cyclists.
