Fantastic Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix
When the weather is freezing and we are feeling cold, there are few things that can heat up the body and spirit like a dense and delicious cup of hot chocolate.
Why then, instead of relying on the ready-made commercial powders, you do not try to prepare it yourself? You can choose the type of chocolate you like and prepare it in many simple variations without taking too much of your time.
What we propose is the classic recipe (for two cups) and the ingredients are --- 120 grams of 70% dark chocolate, 500 ml of milk, 20 grams of sugar, 20 grams of corn starch and 20 grams of unsweetened cocoa powder --- and for an even denser consistency you can add 15 grams of potato starch.
Step-by-step procedure.
Pour the milk into a saucepan and, after sifting, add the potato starch and the bitter cocoa powder. Use a whisk to blend everything together well and to avoid annoying lumps. Add the sugar and put the saucepan on a burner and set the heat on high. Just when the mixture starts to boil reduce the heat to minimum and start to prepare the chocolate.
First, cut the 120 grams of dark chocolate into small pieces with a knife and melt the chocolate using a bain-marie or a microwave oven. Combine the melted chocolate with the contents of the saucepan and continue to stir and mix using the whisk for about one minute. Turn off the heat, test for sweetness, and ... serve!
There are different variations for all tastes!

The procedure for making different variations of this recipe is the same. What you can do if the dark chocolate version does not inspire you is to choose another type of chocolate (milk or white chocolate), and possibly replace cow's milk with one of the other types of milk such as soy, rice, or almond milk. You can also add an extra touch by using ingredients such as vanilla, cinnamon, or chili. In short ... just use your imagination!
