A homemade Calm Down Jar aka Glitter Jar!

The Calm Down Jar aka Glitter Jar is a relaxation tool that harks back to the educational methods of Maria Montessori, which has the power to calm children's minds but also to relax the nerves of stressed adults.

Making one is really simple and you can also use it as an excuse to do something creative with your children, with the advantage of providing a tool to help them calm themselves down and to also restore peace ... in the house!

All you need is a glass jar, transparent glue, several packets of glitter, and if you want, some food coloring. A Calm Down Jar can be made of any color but we encourage you to use the colors that best help the human mind to relax, i.e., blue, green, and purple.

1. Fill the jar with transparent glue up to about a quarter of its height.

2. Next, pour the glitter of your chosen color into the jar. The results are better if there is a diversity of tonalities of color. For example, dark blue, light blue, and bright blue glitter -- and maybe even add a little silver and gold glitter.

3. Add hot water to allow the glue to melt.

4. Stir well, taking care to reach all the way to the bottom of the jar to stir any glue still there and dissolve it completely in the water.

This is the step where, if you want, you can add some food coloring and give the final result a more decisive color.
