A life lesson we all can learn from ...
Each parent lives the important moments of their children's lives with an emotion and intensity that their children often do not even realize.
One of those moments is the transition from one school grade level to another, with everything that such a change entails ...
To give a life lesson to her daughter who was getting ready to start junior high school (aka middle school), a mother named Amy Beth Gardner gave her daughter a tube of toothpaste and asked her to squeeze it until it was empty.
When asked to put all the toothpaste back in the tube, her daughter exclaimed, that it was not possible, and that's how she was able to understand something very important.
Here's the beautiful message Amy gave to her daughter Breonna.
"You will remember this plate of toothpaste for the rest of your life. The words you use will have power and now that you are going to start junior high school, you will realize how much power your words can have."
... "You will have the opportunity to use your words to hurt, demean, and slander others, or you can use them to encourage, inspire, and love other people. Often, you will not weigh your words carefully and you will end up causing pain and just like with this toothpaste, you will not be able to take them back. Use your words carefully, Breonna, even when others do not."
