A woman finds a wounded butterfly and manages to heal it in the most surprising way
Although infinitely fascinating, the laws of nature are absolutely ruthless. An injured or malnourished animal has very little chance of survival because there will always be another one ready to take advantage of its weakness.
The little male Monarch butterfly of which we tell you this story, however, was lucky to be found by Romy McCloskey, a professional embroiderer, and the creator of a fashion brand.
Seeing the butterfly with a severely damaged wing, the woman decided to try to accomplish the impossible.
Romy realized that the butterfly was unable to fly, perhaps due to a malformation in the phase of metamorphosis or perhaps due to an accident. Near the male Monarch butterfly, however, there was another Monarch butterfly (female), and therefore of the same species but it was already lifeless.
So the woman thought to make an attempt to save the male Monarch butterfly by attaching the wing of the female Monarch butterfly that had passed away onto the wounded butterfly.
Being an expert in micro-embroidery, the woman knew both what to do and how to do it. First, she gently immobilized the butterfly and, after having removed the damaged part, she applied the new wing.
The end result seemed really satisfying. Romy fed the Monarch butterfly with home-made nectar to help him heal and to regain his strength, but certainly, there was no guarantee that the butterfly would ever be able to fly again.
But after a few days of rehabilitation ... Surprise! The Monarch butterfly detached himself from the hand of his savior and flapping his wings he took flight and flew away!
Romy, almost with tears in her eyes, could only say goodbye to her little friend, wishing him a happy life.
