6 tips you should follow if you want to keep your white socks looking like new!
White underwear is a must in our wardrobe, but keeping these items as white as when we bought them is really complicated, especially when it comes to socks!
Due to being close to the ground and for the most part enclosed in footwear, socks are easy to get dirty, sweaty, or stained.
With some forethought and a few tricks, however, it is not so impossible to keep socks clean and white.
1. Wash socks immediately after use: We have the habit of leaving dirty socks in the laundry basket until the next time the washing machine is turned on, but the way to keep them clean and fresh is to wash them immediately after use. In this way, you can prevent dirt and sweat from deteriorating the fabric irreversibly.
2. Scrub them: To perfectly remove stains from socks, white or not, you have to leave them immersed for about an hour in warm water and detergent, then scrub them thoroughly. Finally, rinse them with clean water.
3. Bleach: Bleach is essential for washing white laundry. Use a small amount during washing, preferring a delicate bleaching product.
4. Lemon: If you prefer to use natural ingredients, you can try lemon. The acids contained in the lemon pulp will eliminate the stains in the fabric and leave a delicious fragrance. Squeeze half a lemon in a basin with warm water, immerse the socks and let them soak for 30-40 minutes. Finally, let them dry in the sun.
5. Bicarbonate: Use baking soda and water to keep your socks white. Leave them to soak for 25 minutes, then rinse.
6. Warm water: Excessive heat from very hot water can damage fabrics, so it is better to use lukewarm water!
