Spicy Italian eggplants! Here's how to prepare them with very few ingredients
The Mediterranean diet is famous all over the world because it is both healthy and tasty.
Vegetables occupy a prominent place in Italian cuisine and today we will take a look at eggplants, a vegetable that can be prepared in many different ways.
The recipe that we propose is recommended for those who love the flavors of the earth and do not mind a bit of spicy sauce as a condiment.
All you need are just a few ingredients that are easy to find and the preparation will not take you more than half an hour.
Here are the ingredients:
- 3 eggplants
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 3 tablespoon of spicy sauce (chili)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 garlic cloves
- some aromatic herbs (we recommend basil as the main herb)
- salt
Cut the eggplants length-wise and leave to soak in water for about twenty minutes. Once dried thoroughly, fry in a tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick pan. In a saucepan, mix the remaining olive oil together with the lemon juice and spicy sauce. Put the saucepan on the stovetop burner for a few minutes and then add the garlic previously cut into small pieces. Arrange the eggplants on a plate together with the spicy sauce. Finally, add the aromatic herbs and serve at the table.
