While walking in the woods with his dogs, he falls down a cliff! One of the dogs assists him, the other goes to seek help!
Dogs are man's best friend because there is no other animal that demonstrates its unshakable loyalty to its owner in the same way.
This last example happened a few days ago in a wooded area in central Italy, and once again demonstrates the love these animals can have towards their master.
Unfortunately, the story does not have a happy ending, but certainly, the gesture made by the two animals will forever remain in the hearts of the family members.
A 55-year-old Italian man had gone searching for mushrooms and his family had not heard from him for a couple of hours. Attempting to reach his own retreat that he used as a base for excursions, the man, unfortunately, fell 492 feet (150 meters) down a cliff.
Locating him was made possible due to two of his dogs that he had brought with him to search for mushrooms. The two animals, in fact, after having witnessed their owner's accident, went down the cliff to reach him. As if the tasks had been divided, one of the dogs remained to watch over the man, while the other ran to the village to ask for help. The family members, seeing the one dog alone and visibly frightened, tried in vain to contact the man by smartphone. Searches were immediately started on the footpaths usually used by the man until the rescuers were attracted by a noise.
It was the barking of the dog that was watching over the man trying to get their attention. Unfortunately - and here lies the saddest aspect of the incident - the impact of the fall had been too much and the man had not been able to survive until rescuers could find him. What we know, however, is that his trusted four-legged friends had done everything they could to save him, and one of them had stayed with him until the end.
We hope that this story and the love that these two dogs displayed can help the family to attenuate the great pain of their sudden loss.
