A mother turns an adhesive top from a baby wipe package into a safety accessory and her advice goes viral ...
When they get home and begin to take their first steps - crawling here and there - toddlers can really be unstoppable.
Just one second of inattention and they disappear from sight to get into some kind of trouble! Their innate curiosity leads them to explore every corner of the house, interacting with any object they find on their way.
One of the accessories in our homes, which never fails to attract a toddler's attention, is the electric socket.
For some reason, those outlet holes on the wall are an irresistible call, and toddlers do not hesitate to try to slip their tiny fingers or their toys into the holes, perhaps trying to imitate the gesture of their parents.
Therefore, how can we make electric sockets completely safe?
There exist on the market, socket outlet plugs to place in electric socket outlets, but they do not hide the electric sockets from view.
This is why a mother, Brittany Kurtz, has devised and shared with us a creative upcycling method to keep dangerous socket outlet holes out of the sight and reach of children.
All you have to do is remove the plastic adhesive top of a package of baby wipes and place it over the socket. The practical aperture can be opened to connect appliances when necessary, but once closed it will become a precious safety accessory that offers extra protection.
Many adhesive tops on baby wipe packages are made of a very resistant plastic and their opening is child-proof, so they are perfect for this use!
By positioning the adhesive top over electric sockets and also leaving the protective outlet covers in place, we can be pretty sure that toddlers will not be able to get to the electric sockets, or at least they will have to spend a lot of time trying to do it.
What do you think of this mini DIY creative upcycling project? To us, it seems like a good idea ... After all, when it comes to children, especially, toddlers --- you can never be too careful!
