This is what bullying does! Here is the painful denunciation of a mother tired of seeing her daughter in the hospital

Little Sofia's story reminds us how minimizing bullying and saying that it is only "the typical behavior of children" is dangerous.

A mother, Carrie Golledge, has published a post on Facebook to warn anyone who has to deal with bullying to take it seriously.

What she and her little daughter experienced were months of violence, physical and verbal, that was minimized and ignored --- until the little girl was reduced to a small body lying on a stretcher in a hospital, traumatized both physically and psychologically and without hope.

Little Sophia had a friend, the one she considered to be her best friend. For some reason, the other girl began to feel a certain satisfaction in controlling Sofia, in deciding the emotions that Sophia should feel, and she even went so far as to control when and what Sofia was supposed to eat

This is not an isolated case. This situation is a succession of tragic coincidences born from the encounter between a weaker and a stronger personality. Furthermore, these are events that happen more often than we imagine.

Sofia began to have episodes of vomiting, crying, and panic attacks that immediately aroused the suspicion of her parents. At first, they thought it was a disease that caused all those discomforts, but one day Sofia told her parents everything! In fact, she had been for months, living a hellish ordeal, so much so that she could no longer distinguish between what was right and normal from what was wrong and evil. She also said that she had already tried several times to tell her teachers what was happening to her, but that they would only answer, "Just ignore those who bother you and play with the other classmates".

Even when Sofia's mother went to her school in person, she heard: "Ma'am, these are things that normally happen between kids." It was then that the woman decided to publish the photo of her little daughter in the hospital, accompanying the image with a powerful denunciation that, hopefully, has also reached those who wanted to ignore or minimize everything.

This is what bullying does...
This is my 6-year-old daughter, hospitalized, due to bullying...
This is my child with such a caring heart that despite being so ill "doesn't want anyone to get in trouble"...
This is my child who has stopped eating, has cried herself to sleep, had anxiety so severe she's up sick over 20 times in an hour through the night...
This is my child whose "best friend" has emotionally abused her for so long she thought it was normal...
This is my child who has been in and out of the hospital for countless trips due to being so sick with anxiety...
This is my child who was told off for "telling tales at school"...
This is my child who has been mocked on social media by the bullies parents for just having such a pure heart...
This is my child who when addressing the issues with her school we were told: "Its just 6-year-olds being 6-year-olds"...
This is my child who was told by the school she should be the one feeling ashamed and be snuck in a side door of a morning...
This is my child who her school failed her so badly that we had to move her schools...

This is my child who is one of too many that are going through this...

This is my child whose story is being twisted and manipulated by the very people that were meant to protect her at her school when she was in their care...

This is my child who doesn't want this to happen to anyone else. So this is my child's story we are sharing but she is one of many....too many!

Please help us share her story. Let's show her the support her school couldn't afford her.

Now Sophie is feeling better; she has changed her school and her mother says Sophie already has new friends. Unfortunately, her story is not the only one. Bullying is a problem that, although known, is a problem for which no solution has been found yet. Never minimize or ignore a child who complains of being harassed by another classmate. Do not belittle bullying, instead be ready to lend an attentive and supportive ear!
