His owner had passed away but this dog still waited for him on the side of the road for 83 days ...
Many of you will remember the memorable and very famous story of Hachiko, a faithful dog who lived in Japan and who every day, after the death of his owner, traveled the same stretch of road that they used to walk together.
Hachiko's story rebounded from one end of the globe to the other so much that it inspired the making of a very popular and well-known film.
Apparently, in Mongolia there is a dog destined to become Hachiko's moral "heir", that is to say, another wonderful dog that has distinguished himself for his deep dedication to his deceased owner and friend.
In the city of Hohhot, the capital of the Mongolia region, local citizens took pictures and videos of a dog that went to the same place every day.
His master had died tragically on that same stretch of road in August and from the very next day the dog had acquired the habit of going to the same place, despite the traffic, the rain or the sun, to wait for the return of his beloved human friend.
This daily habit of patiently waiting went on for a good three months (more than 80 days) and the offers of help from the local people were useless.
In fact, the dog showed a lot of distrust towards humans and would run away, and then come back a few minutes later to sit on the side of the road again.
Finally in November, after the reports of citizens concerned about the health and safety of the dog and drivers, an animal association decided to intervene and try to understand if there were other family members who could take charge of the dog or if it was appropriate to put the dog in their foster care program.
We hope that this loving and faithful dog will soon find a family that can take care of him and repay him for the immense love that he has shown.
