Although most of us try to surround ourselves with good people, it's not an easy task filtering out all the bad ones. Negative people come in all shapes and sizes. Some never leave us alone while others criticize us too much. Some put their nose in places it doesn't belong while others just make us feel uneasy. Some people are so terrible that they purposefully drain us of all our energy and toy with our psyches.

Perhaps the most annoying type of people are those who complain all the time. They only see the glass half empty and never have anything good to say about anyone. If you are looking to avoid letting these kinds of people into your life, you might find the following advice useful.

  • 1. It is essential to impose limits on family members or friends who complain, always keeping your cool and do not forget to always respect the other person.
  • 2. Some good help you can give to these people is to make them understand that the solution to their problems can be found only by them. And that they should try not to be so emotional and to, especially, stop their constant complaining.
  • 3. Make it clear that only with positivity can something be obtained and appreciated.
  • 4. Do breathing exercises to ward off the negativity coming from those who constantly complain. In fact, these exercises help oxygen to circulate throughout the body and eliminate feelings of tension and oppression.
  • 5. Surround yourself with positive people as much as possible and engage in activities that make you feel better psychologically, such as reading, listening to music, and practicing sports.

Adopting these tips, not only helps our minds to remain lucid and "connected" but also the people who complain to try to see reality with a little more positivity.
