Coughing is a natural method of defense used by our body, but if it persists for too long, we must absolutely consult a doctor to understand what is causing this defensive reaction.

Surely, coughing is very annoying, especially in the evening. In fact, a dry night cough does not allow us to sleep and turns nights into a real nightmare.

We can resort to cough syrups and cough suppressants and of course, drug stores offer us different alternatives at very low prices, but the ideal solution would be to have a home remedy that can easily be used at any time.

Obviously, it is always advisable for a doctor to make a general assessment of your health before resorting to this natural remedy. Let's see what it is and how it is prepared.

NB: The advice we give you can NEVER replace the opinion of a doctor or the pharmacological medications that a doctor prescribes for a specific pathology.

This natural homemade cough syrup seems to be able to cleanse and remove accumulated mucus from the respiratory tract, thereby allowing us, once again, to sleep soundly.

The only ingredients needed to prepare this cough syrup are 20 mint leaves and 2 cups of honey (half a liter).

Honey, it is well known, has a thousand beneficial properties, in particular regarding coughs and sore throats. In fact, it is a highly beneficial ingredient that helps us to cope with seasonal ailments.

Moreover, in mild influenza forms, when antibiotic therapies are not necessary to eradicate specific bacteria, honey is a useful and valid ally.

In cases of sudden cough attacks, swallowing a teaspoon of honey has an immediate sedative action. Together with mint leaves, which are also rich in beneficial properties, it is possible to make a truly effective cough syrup.

Wash the mint leaves well under running water, then put them in a pan and heat them using a bain-marie.

Next, add the honey and wait for the leaves to turn brown before turning off the heat.

After the mixture has cooled down, you can take your natural cough syrup at least 3 times a day.

Get well soon!
