With the arrival of the winter season and, especially the Christmas holiday season, in many of the coldest countries, there is the custom of preparing a tasty drink with excellent therapeutic properties, namely, hot wine with spices aka "mulled wine".

More precisely, it is called "Glühwein", a typical Christmas drink, originating from Germany.

Not only does this delicious drink fight the cold weather but it is also rich in beneficial properties for our health.

The main ingredients are red wine, sugar, bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, star anise, nutmeg, and orange and lemon peels.

This is a special mix of wine and spices that will keep you warm and in good humor during the coldest evenings!

The ingredients you will need are: 25 oz (750 ml) of red wine, 3 oz (80 g) of brown sugar, 2 bay leaves, 4 whole cardamom seeds, 6 cloves, 2 pieces of star anise, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 pinch of nutmeg, and the peels of one lemon and one orange.
 
Preparing this delicious drink is very simple, you just need to warm up the laurel, cardamom, cloves, anise, cinnamon, nutmeg, and citrus peels in a saucepan; then add the brown sugar and stir for a few seconds.
 
The next and final step is to add the red wine and "cook" everything using low heat for about 30 minutes.
