Steven Cotter, Jr. was only six years old when he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August 2016.

Little Steven immediately started to undergo the cycles of treatments designed to cure this pathology in children, which were necessary for three long years.

A period in which the child saw and was in constant contact with doctors and hospitals - as he completed the numerous cycles of chemotherapy he had to undergo.

Unfortunately, all of this means that since he was only a few years old, the young boy has been literally fighting for his life.

Now, finally, Steven can breathe a sigh of relief because he has finished his treatments and he has been cured of this disease.

His reaction to the happy news was captured on video by his mother and the young boy cannot hold back his tears of joy.

Now Steven is 9 years old and he has finally taken his last pill, thus ending his chemotherapy cycles.

He was at home in Norman, Oklahoma when he was told that it was his last pill - and he suddenly burst into tears - tears of happiness, held back until then, tears that mark the child's victory over the disease.

"You don't know what true happiness is until you see a 9-year-old boy crying the happiest tears ever, because he is finally cancer-free and can stop undergoing chemotherapy treatment !! My child has taken his last pill, and is crying with a smile on his face !!!! God has blessed my family!"

This is the message that Steven's mother Ashley Cotter posted on Facebook to express what was a moment of real liberation for everyone.

Ashley Cotter also posted a video of the great moment, in which Steven consciously took the last pill after three long years.

In addition, she has posted a series of photos of Steven sitting next to dozens of empty medicine containers - just to give an idea of everything the boy has had to go through over the years.

"In the last 3 years, he has had many blood transfusions, has taken a lot of medications, and has had to endure several hospital stays," said Steven's mother, who naturally was also very happy to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Good news, just in time for the Christmas holidays and the end of the year! Now, little Steven will be able to leave the hated chemotherapy cycles in the past and greet the New Year with joy and renewed vitality!
