When Bonita arrived at the Niagara SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) animal shelter in August 2018, it was not easy to find an adoption situation that was right for her.

Many dogs, in fact, remain in animal shelters for a relatively short time before leaving because, fortunately, they find people who they can count on and who will be able to give them all the love and affection they need.

In the case of Bonita, a six-year-old female dog, it was different, perhaps precisely because of her age. So much so that she had become the dog that had lived the longest in the animal shelter.

However, after 500 days in the Niagara SPCA shelter, something changed, and it transformed Bonita into a sort of celebrity.

When the news finally arrived that the dog was about to leave the Niagara SPCA shelter, all the people who work there were delighted.

Bonita, in fact, could finally consider herself so lucky to have found a family to adopt her, and this event certainly deserved a party.

Bonita's was an unforgettable exit, practically a "farewell party" that was immortalized in an exciting video that soon made the rounds on the social media platforms on the Internet.

In the video, it can be clearly seen that as Bonita was leaving the Niagara SPCA shelter, there was no shortage of excitement, confetti, applause, and tears of joy.

After nearly 500 days of being at the shelter, Bonita has left the building! ❤️

This very nice four-legged friend was chosen by her new human friends precisely because she was the pet dog that had lived the longest in the Niagara SCPA animal shelter!

In fact, her new owner was so happy to adopt her that he created an Instagram page to recount and share the adventures of his daily life with Bonita.

Yes, this dog's life has changed radically! In fact, her wonderful adoptive family treats her like a queen, and now she lacks absolutely nothing.

And Bonita, for her part, manages to give, day by day, a lot of love and affection to those around her. All that remains is to wish her a long and joyous time to spend in peace and happiness with her new family!
