Married couple are arrested during their wedding ceremony after ignoring government restrictions against public gatherings
Despite government restrictions set in place to combat the spread of the Coronavirus, one couple in South Africa refused to let that stop them from celebrating their wedding day. With 53 people in attendance, it didn't take long for someone to notice and report the couple to local authorities. By the end of the ceremony, the married couple didn't make their grand exit in a limousine but in a task force car.

The ceremony and eventual arrests took place in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. What a sight it must have been when an entire task force, armed with guns and preventive facemasks, showed up unannounced at the wedding. Luckily, they barged in after the couple had already been announced as "man and wife". Despite having to spend their honeymoon behind bars, they'll at least be spending it together.
When the couple was asked why they didn't postpone the wedding, they chose not to answer. What we do know is that they put themselves and 53 others in unnecessary danger. The couple's poor judgement is yet again another example of people's ongoing carelessness and seflishness during the Coronavirus epidemic. We can only hope that the couple learned their lesson and that they will practice better judgement for the next ceremony they put together.
