Police arrest man after violating quarantine restrictions: his dog waited for him for hours outside the police station while he was being processed

A dog's loyalty is a sign of devotion that often surpasses all expectations and and offers love and affection without wanting anything in return. If a dog decides that they don't want to be separated from their owner, there's no doubt that they'll do do anything to stay by their side. 

It's exactly what happened in Charly's case, an adorable dog that lives in Guatemala with her owner, Steven. Arrested for violating quarantine restrictions put into place to combat the spread of the Coronavirus, Charly wasn't about to let the police separate the two of them. She followed them to the police station and refused to move until they returned her beloved owner to her.

Steven, like most of us in the period, was feeling a bit stir-crazy. Having been cooped up in his house for many days, Steven decided to take a walk despite enforced government restrictions. It was obviously an irresponsible choice to make in a time where the Coronavirus is still spreading rather quickly, but that's not the point of the story. The point is, despite her owner's bad judgement, Charly stood by Steven even when he was being whisked away by the police. It didn't matter that he had been irresponsible; her human needed her and she wasn't about to abandon him.

Once the police officers escorted Steven into the station, Charly tried several times to get inside. She made it in a couple times, but the officers always sent her back outside to wait. And she ended up waiting several hours, without as much as a snack or a potty break. She wasn't going anywhere until her human was returned to her.

Charly and Steven's story was posted and shared on Facebook and it didn't take long for it to go viral. People were touched by Charly's loyalty everywhere. Here's hoping that eventually we will all find a dog, or another human, as loyal as Charly is to Steven; someone who's there for us through thick and thin.
