A young man hides his girlfriend in the trunk of his car so that he and his girlfriend can spend time together during quarantine: they ended up getting fined
Restrictions like mandatory quarantine and social distancing during the Coronavirus have been difficult on us all. Perhaps those who have been suffering the most are couples who have been forced to spend their entire time in quarantine apart from each other.
In Italy, one of the European countries that's been hit the hardest by Covid, restrictions are finally starting to loosen up a bit. This does not mean, however, that Italians are able to go anywhere they please. For the time being, traveling between regions and provinces is still not permitted. Some people, although for good intentions, have tried to find ways of getting around these restrictions, but with little or no success.

It's needless to say that love between young people knows no limits and definitely doesn't know when to call it quits. Take Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" as a prime example. Although not nearly as tragic as Romeo and Juliet's end, a young Italian couple in Trentino, Italy, was caught by police officers in their car without having a real reason why they left their houses.
At first, the police thought the young man was by himself when they first stopped the car. When they noticed evidence that another person might be in the car with him, they checked the trunk of his car. To their surprise, they found his girlfriend in the trunk, who had attempted to hide from them and any other "stops" they might have encountered along their journey. Given the two young people meant no one no harm (after all, they just wanted to pass some time together), the officers gave them a fine.
For the officers who stopped them, it was probably a relief to know the girl wasn't in any real danger. In fact, they probably even found it comical. It's important to remember, however, that we still need to be as precatious as possible. Otherwise, we might be back in the same situation that we found ourselves in 2 months ago.
