Coronavirus, a supermarket raises the price of masks "by mistake": the company apologizes
In such a difficult time as we are all experiencing due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, masks and personal protective equipment are essential to not let the virus spread, at least until an effective vaccine is discovered. We all must wear protective masks, but there are those who obviously speculate on the price of the latter. It seems apparently to have happened in the French supermarket in this infuriating story, to say the least.

In a video posted on Facebook by Victoire Fievet, Victoire shows the increased price of a set of 10 masks bought at a Leclerc supermarket in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, France. In the video, Victoire shows how the label printed on the protective devices showed the price of 6 euros, but under the label itself there was another one where you could read 3 euros; a fairly sizable speculation, given that both labels declared the date of May 4, 2020.
Victoire, outraged, published the video where he shows the two prices and the same date, with the video first making the rounds of France and then of the world. On 4 May, Michel-Edouard Leclerc, CEO of the group, announced in advance on his blog that the cost of a three-layer face mask would be € 0.50, a price that seems to have been adopted by "the main distribution brands since Monday May 4th." This is why Bertrand Le Come, CEO of the hypermarket, officially apologized to all customers, pointing to the price increase as a simple mistake caused by one of the employees.
We must pay attention to the price we pay for the protective masks, they are an essential device for this delicate global situation, and we should not allow speculation of any kind to occur!
