This father finally was able to gain custody of his son after a long custody battle with his ex who didn't want to keep him
Who says that a child has to be raised by both parents in order to be happy? Many children who grow up in single-parent homes go on to lead successful lives. In the end, it doesn't matter whether "mom" or "dad" didn't want to stay; what really matters is that they grew up in a home where they felt loved and wanted. In Luis Fernando's case, he's done everything he can to make his son feel loved, including making up for the mother who didn't want him.

Luis Fernando is a young paramedic from Monterrey, Messico. His story began when he met a girl and, after four months of seeing each other, they ended up getting pregnant. From the moment she found out, his girlfriend was already convinced that she didn't want to keep the baby. Luis stated, "She wanted to terminate the pregnancy. It was her decision and, even though I didn't agree with it, I couldn't tell her what to do because it was her body and she had already decided she was going to take the pills, and I just had to keep quiet and walk away."
Luis's girlfriend's attempt to end the pregnancy didn't work, however. The next time she saw her doctor, she was told she was 18 weeks pregnant. That's when she decided to keep the baby. Once the child was born, she told Luis that she wanted him to take care of it while she regained her strength.
Months passed by, and the mother barely ever stopped by to visit Luis and her son. That's why he found it strange when she suddenly told Luis she wanted to take over custody of their child. He immediately sought legal assistance, because there was no way he was going to hand over his child to a mother who never wanted him in the first place.
In one of the court hearings, the woman however stated that she had had second thoughts about not wanting her son. It was no secret that she didn't want him in the beginning, but now she wanted to be a part of his life. Her testimony wasn't enough for the judge to rule completely in her favor, though.
Although he granted full custody of the child to Luis, he did grant weekly visits and a monthly stipend to the mother. These visits didn't last very long, however. Luis and his son hasn't seen his ex since March 2019; she simply stopped coming.
Luckily, Luis's son still has a mother figure in his life: his grandmother. While luis goes to work, Luis's mother takes care of his son. It's thanks to Luis's hard work and big heart that his son has everything a boy his age needs or could want in his life.
The father-son duo make a great team and they are getting along just fine without his ex. Keep smiling you two, you guys are an amazing family!
