A police officer puts his life at risk to save a dog who had fallen and became entrapped in a canal
With all the hatred happening in the world today, it's nice to hear stories about people who go above and beyond what's expected of them to help someone else out. It's even more compelling when people risk their safety to save the life of an animal. In the case of Sorasak Ritthikhotm, a Thai police officer, he made it clear to his community that saving the lives of humans is not his only duty; he'll even put his own life at risk, if it means saving a poor, defenseless animal.
It all happened when Sorasak saw a dog fall into one of the city's water canals. The canals are dirty and full of trash, which made it hard for the poor dog to pull himself out. Sorasak took immediate action and climbed down into the canal to save the dog from drowning. It was a feat that ended up being harder than what it looked: the dog was clearly terrified and super aggressive toward Sorasak. He knew that if he wanted to pull the dog out, getting bitten was a risk he had to be willing to take.
The dog's aggressiveness may have been scary, but Sorasak finally pulled him to safety!
The whole event was captured on video by one of Sorasak's colleagues; it didn't take long for the video to become viral. Once the dog was pulled out, they were also able to find his owners and return him to them.
This is yet again another story that exemplifies humans' potential for good! Sorasak risked his own safety to save this dog's life. We need more people like Sorasak!
