Do you believe in miracles? There are those who firmly believe in them, and those who don't, but beyond personal beliefs, many parents who have seen their children's lives hanging in the balance only to emerge from seemingly desperate conditions, are more prone to to thinking that sometimes these miracles really can happen. As is the story with Logan Ray, who was born prematurely at just 23 weeks of gestation and who battled to stay alive.

After being born prematurely at just 23 weeks' gestation, Logan weighed only 1.5 pounds and his length exactly matched that of a Superman doll his father had bought for him when he finally got out of the hospital. After spending a total of 105 days in the hospital, Logan is finally back home and has grown. He is now four years old and every year his mother Valerie takes a picture of him next to his favorite toy to remember how much he has grown and recovered after his extraordinarily difficult start in life.

Mom Valerie is so proud of her little Logan that she said in an interview: "He's a little superhero too. Even when he weighed only half a kilo I always called him the tough guy of the family!"

A little hero who managed to overcome his mother's misfortune and grow up healthy like all his peers. His mother Valerie had a premature birth due to cervical incompetence, which is a medical condition whereby the cervix shortens and dilates prematurely, sometimes even causing miscarriages.
