She hasn't changed her hairstyle since the 1960s: when a stylist transforms her, not even her daughters recognize her
Being so in love with your hair that you never want to change it; we get used to it, especially as the years pass and we no longer want to change. This is what happened to Joan Irvine, a fantastic, irreplaceable mother and grandmother, who never wanted to change her hairstyle since at least 1965; she the woman has always cared so much about her elaborate hair style that she woke up at 5.30 every morning to fix it.
Joan Irving has always sported her beehive hairstyle, very beautiful to look at but in reality, over the years, very old-fashioned; the woman always woke up early every morning to take care of her adored hairstyle; but one day Joan's two daughters, Cindy and Christine, noticed that her hairstyle made her look older than her real age. Something absolutely had to be done.
For this reason they turned to Oprah Winfrey and her TV show to take Mom to the hairstylist and completely transform her into a younger mother and grandmother, and finally not "old-fashioned".
The result of the makeover session was incredible and disconcerting, so much so that the two daughters didn't recognize Joan the first time she showed up in front of the television audience and in front of them; the hairdresser on the show had in fact warned Cindy: "Your mother now looks like your sister!"
Now, Joan is a completely different woman; the old-fashioned beehive hairstyle has disappeared to make room for a modern, more jaunty but at the same time elegant haircut.
Now Joan Irving can finally turn the page!
