"My partner wants me to stop breastfeeding my 6 month old son!": An anonymous mom's cry for help
There is no specific age to stop breastfeeding your baby, nor is there a set date for deciding to switch to formula milk or liquid or solid foods. The average for this step is usually around the age of 18 months, but sometimes this period of time can last even longer, at the discretion of the mother or led by the needs of the newborn. However, many people, blinded by prejudice and a bit ignorant on the subject, think that lengthening breastfeeding time is rather inappropriate ...

An 18-year-old new mom anonymously shared her breastfeeding experience on a Reddit group where she asked users for advice on how to deal with her partner on this topic. The woman said that she and her partner have a baby of only 6 months and that she is feeding him exclusively with her breast milk and that she has no intention, at least for the moment, of switching to formula milk or other types of foods, liquid or solid.
Too bad her partner finds this choice rather "strange": "Yesterday, he came upstairs before going to bed while I was breastfeeding the baby and said: 'I think he's getting a little too old to this, it may be time to switch to real food'; but the fact is that I intend to give him my breast milk until my child shows interest in other types of food or until he is 18 months old, or until he is 18 months old and is completely weaned onto solid food."
At that insensitive request from her partner, the woman was completely shocked: "What my partner said to me literally shocked me because I know that the average age to stop breastfeeding worldwide is between two and a half and seven years old, and I have him constantly making stupid comments! "
Obviously, most of the Reddit users to whom the woman had asked for help and advice, took the side of the new mother, convinced that the reasons behind breastfeeding were absolutely reasonable and the perfect choice for any mother who wants to feed her baby herself.
With all due respect to her companion, we have to say he doesn't know what he's talking about.
