Grandparents are usually elderly figures who carry a great wealth of experience with them, precisely because they have lived a lot and faced many problems in the course of their lives. But becoming a grandmother, according to Pamela Gerardi, a 34-year-old woman, is not a question of old age, but of being "blessed". According to the young mother and grandmother of little Nicolò, being a grandparent is a real blessing and if you could choose, she would advise everyone to give it a go. The truth is that Pamela certainly did not expect to become a grandmother so soon, but her joy is nevertheless immeasurable. Pamela, only 34 years old, is officially the youngest grandmother in Italy!

Pamela had her first daughter at 18, very early, and she probably didn't expect to be a grandmother so soon. Her daughter, in fact, gave birth to little Nicolò at the age of 16, at the "Paolo Borsellino" hospital in Marsala. An event certainly mitigated by the Covid-19 emergency, which has reduced contact to a minimum and impacts on any type of celebration. Pamela, however, wanted to express her great joy and all her gratitude to the gynecology and obstetrics department of her city hospital, on her social networks. "In a difficult period, characterized by the pandemic, witnessing such a birth is also touching for the hospital staff" confirmed Dr. Dario Ferreri, the gynecologist who followed the sixteen year old's pregnancy.

Pamela also didn't expect all this attention: "I didn't expect it, but I want to emphasize that I don't feel old at all. Children are a blessing, regardless of the age at which you have them." and she adds: "Being a grandparent does not mean being old, it simply means having been blessed. It is the best gift that can exist. If becoming a grandparent was just a matter of choice, I would advise each of you to become a grandmother."

Now Pamela will be grandmother to her grandson, Nicolò, and she will continue to play the role of mother with her second daughter, just 3 years old, and, of course, with her sixteen-year-old daughter. A heartfelt wish to this wonderful family!
