We all have wonderful memories of our mother when we were children. We remember, as if it were yesterday, the moments when she hugged us, she filled us with kisses, she cuddled us, helped us bathe, dried us, dressed us; all the small rituals that with the passage of time have finished precisely because we grow up and no longer needs them. Yet, there are still mothers and children who like to keep up the family traditions, some definitely bordering on bad taste ...

A testimony that has caused quite a stir and that has generated hundreds of thousands of comments and opinions is that from mother Mary, a 55-year-old woman from Jensen Beach in Florida, and her 19-year-old daughter Brittani. A mother-daughter duo apparently like many others, but what they shared on the television program TLC Mothered made many people raise their eyebrows.

It seems that the two women have a very close relationship, and not only because they are mother and daughter: "I have been taking a shower with my daughter since she was five. She is my daughter, I love her and I see nothing wrong with it. I don't think I've decided to have such a close relationship with Brittani, it's something that just happened and developed like this."

After all, as Brittani herself tells us, her mother has been taking a shower with her since she was five years old and suffered from panic attacks; a ritual that the girl who is now 19 still finds very comforting: "When my mother does simple things like washing my hair or my body, I feel comforted. Also, I'm only 19, I haven't left home yet. if I did, my mother would probably suffer from separation anxiety!"

The daily routine of mother Mary and her daughter Brittani can only start every morning with a refreshing and comforting shower together; mum and daughter have been honoring this tradition for fourteen years, why stop now?

Obviously, the story of these two women has literally divided public opinion: many wonder if Brittani is not too grown up to continue to honor this family tradition, just as many wonder if the daughter continues to shower with her mother, all in all, so as not to disappoint her mother.

Mary and Brittani seem truly inseparable, but what will happen when one day her 19-year-old daughter decides to leave home?
