How many times in our life has shameless luck played a decisive role? A thought like that will surely have flashed in the mind of Olajumoke Orisaguna, a street bread seller who was trying to make ends meet in the city of Lagos and who found an unexpected fortune ...
Olajumoke Orisaguna is 27 years old, is a mother of a family, a wife and hairdresser from the federal state of Osun, in Nigeria; life has always been very hard for her, poverty has never been far from her family's door and so, aware that her job as a hairdresser in her village was not enough to keep the house going, she followed the advice of a relative who was a baker in the city of Lagos, and moved there, thus taking on the role of a street vendor of fresh bread.
But she didn't know that her very humble work would change her life in the most unexpected way possible ...
While walking through the streets of Lagos trying to sell her bread, the Nigerian woman suddenly found herself the star of a photo shoot curated by Ty Bello who was also trying to immortalize with elegant clothes, perspective and the right lights, the highly successful Nigerian rapper Tinie Tempah.
At first, the crew didn't understand where that woman carrying bread on the back of her head came from, some wanted to stop the photoshoot to chase her away, while others were particularly fascinated by the almost ethereal presence of Olajumoke Orisaguna, including Ty Bello, the professional photographer who was doing the principal photography.
Ty Bello then approached the street vendor and asked her who she was, where she came from, and confessed to her that she had a hypnotic bearing and presence, like a real model: "While I was listening to her I wondered if the beauty that I had seen on my camera lens while I was editing my image it was a coincidence ... well, until she smiled. I realized I was wrong. I had in fact underestimated the beauty of this 27-year-old woman. Initially I was wrong to have paid so little attention to her. Every frame with her was perfect!"
The fact is that Orisaguna has accepted the offer of modelling work for other and new photo shoots curated by Ty Bello, becoming a very popular model in a very short time, whose face even ended up on the cover of the Nigerian magazine This Day in Style.
