She loses a son, and his organs save the lives of others: one recipient shows up at her wedding (+ VIDEO)
Our choices can really affect the lives of others, for better or for worse. Anyone who chooses to donate their organs, once their time comes, knows that it could potentially save lives. A choice that, perhaps, is not made often enough. Yet the lists for those who need a transplant are always very long, all over the world.
Becky Turney lost her only son, Triston, who passed away at just 19. On her wedding day, Becky left a place of honor at the table to commemorate him, unaware that her husband, Kelly, had invited someone special who was keeping Triston's memory alive even more.

Becky Turney got married in what seemed, initially, a special day but, all in all, a normal one: her father was accompanying her arm in arm down the aisle to join her husband, Kelly, whom she would soon marry in front of everyone. In the midst of that ceremony, however, Kelly walked back up the aisle. "What are you doing? We have to get married now," Becky thought, incredulous at his strange behavior.
Her husband, on the other hand, started talking about Triston, Becky's deceased son, who had passed away at the very young age of 19. Obviously Triston could not be present at the ceremony, but Kelly wanted to leave him a place of honor to commemorate his life. As if that weren't enough, however, Kelly revealed to everyone in attendance that Triston was also an organ donor and that with his death he had saved the lives of 5 other people.
One of those people was right there, among the wedding guests, as the guest of honor.
Becky couldn't believe her eyes: "If my brother-in-law hadn't been there to hold my hand, I would have collapsed in that moment!" revealed the bride. The guest of honor was a young man named Jacob Kilby, who had been lucky enough to receive Triston's heart as a life saving donation. An organ donation that allowed him to continue living and, at the same time, to keep Triston's memory alive. Jacob asked Becky if she would have liked to listen to the beating of his heart, the very same heart her son had donated, which was now giving new life to Jacob. Becky naturally was moved to tears as she listened to that heartbeat with the help of a stethoscope.
Becky will not easily forget that meeting which, for sure, was one of the most touching moments of her life, so much so that now she would also like to meet the other people who benefited from her son's organ donation.
A story that reminds us how our choices can totally change people's lives.
