People are always very wary of today's young people and, more generally, of teenagers, who are known to put some strain on their parents' lives on a regular basis. Still, you can't generalize too much: many teenagers have grown up and continue to develop with excellent morals and values and all they want is simply the best for others. Melissa Vang undoubtedly had some preconceptions about young people and their way of behaving, so much so that when one day she heard an energetic knock on her door, she immediately thought the worst. In reality, the woman was forced to change her mind.

Melissa was home alone with her two children when, unexpectedly, she heard someone knocking and ringing at her front door. Suspicious because she wasn't expecting any visitors, Melissa went to check who it was on the video intercom. Outside the door was a boy she had never seen, to whom she was reluctant to open the door. After a few moments, however, Melissa noticed that the teenager had something in her hand, which he was waving in front of the camera ... it was a wallet! Actually, it was Melissa's husband's wallet, with all the money, documents and credit cards still in it. Melissa breathed a sigh of relief, not only for her own safety, but also over the matter of her husband's wallet, who had accidentally dropped it on the porch. The boy who had knocled at the door was identified as Tyler Opdyke, a young man who was passing by to distribute flyers and who had noticed the wallet on the ground.

Instead of taking it and keeping the money, the young man returned it to its rightful owner, knowing it was the right thing to do. "I am a boy born into a family that goes to church, that wallet was not mine" said the young man, explaining how  his gesture was completely normal and natural. The woman was very grateful to him even if at the time she was unable to express her gratitude to him; after discovering his identity, however, the woman thanked him properly.

We don't judge a book by its cover and we should have more faith in today's young people: they may surprise us with a kind and unexpected gesture!
