Let's face it, to date one of the biggest social and cultural problems that we all face from generation to generation is that of bullying. This vile act can have very different facets. It can be simply verbal, or psychological, and it can even take the form of physical violence. In the end, the victim is always the loser - bullied perhaps because he or she has a physical appearance that is not "in keeping" with arbitrary, unwritten laws of the society in which we live, or simply because he or she has a different personality from that of the masses.

In short, bullying can have terrible consequences for the victim, even in the years following the maturity of the bullied party. For this reason, the splendid story of kindness and solidarity between adolescents that we want to tell you about today has a truly profound and important meaning. It all started when young Tae Moore, a student at the same South Carolina high school that Tyler Bates attended, noticed how his fellow classmate was constantly being mocked and bullied for his appearance, his clothes, and his behavior. Tae had to do something to help Tyler and make him understand that he was definitely not alone.

Tae knew perfectly well that his classmate Tyler loved a particuar brand of sneakers, so he asked him what shoe size he wore and decided to give him a surprise he would never forget. On a morning like any other at school, the kindly Tae Moore asked Tyler to follow him to the school gym. Tyler, fearful of what might be waiting for him, nevertheless decided to follow his classmate - only to unexpectedly find himself the subject of a surprising and extraordinary act of kindness...

The two boys reached the school gymnasium, and Tae presented his bullied classmate with a brand new pair of sneakers. Tyler immediately put them on and  Tae helped him to lace them up. And then, at the end of this moving moment, the two boys hugged each other: "I heard that people bully you, so I wanted to give you these sneakers to make you feel better,” Tae said to Tyler at the time.

This boy's gesture says more than a thousand words: this is how bullying is defeated!
