Mom pierces her new-born daughter's ears and is harshly criticized
In many cultures it is quite normal to find a mother who decides to have her new-born baby's ears pierced. In Western culture, however, this is not so common and, especially in new-borns, it is considered a "cruel" practice that causes unnecessary pain to such a small infant.
TikTok user "london.babygray", however, does not think like this and, in order to see her daughter wearing a nice pair of earrings, went to a professional piercing shop and allowed the child's ears to be pierced. Being something of an influencer on TikTok, the woman frequently shares her personal stories, which now also involve her daughter - but this time she was forced to face a flood of harsh criticisms.
London, the young mother, had the whole scene filmed in which a professional pierces the ears of her very young daughter. In the short clip, her little girl is heard emitting a couple of loud squeals just after the piercing gun is used. London reassures her daughter and apologizes as soon as she hears her crying - but at the end of the video she can clearly be heard saying in an excited voice: "Oh, you're so pretty! So pretty!". The only reason that comes to mind as to why a parent should have their baby's ears pierced is, we believe, purely aesthetic. Many users reacted by criticizing this "cruel" choice.
Amongst the most frequent comments from users about this are: "She's too small"; "Poor girl, you shouldn't do this" and; "It's a unnecessary pain for a child". In short, the choice of this mother did not please the majority of the users, but she absolutely did not regret her decision, defining her critics as "obsessed strangers" and emphasizing that the more they clicked on her video, the more they would let her earn. For now, the video has been watched by at least 20 thousand users and we are sure that the polemic will continue.
