Greengrocer finds a wallet with $ 7,000 and keeps it for a claimant: a month later, an old woman thanks him in tears

Ronald is an honest Buenos Aires greengrocer who has always listened to his father's words and who continues to follow them: "What isn't yours, don't take it!". When Ronald found a wallet forgotten by a passing customer, he was not tempted to take it for himself. He knew that sooner or later, someone would come looking for it, so he put it aside and waited. Ronald sells fruit and vegetables in his small shop in Buenos Aires and works hard every day to earn his living. But a wallet full of money, randomly left around, would be a great opportunity for anyone. The man did not even want to open it to see who the owner was or how much money it contained, and was confident that the rightful owner would soon return to retrieve it.
Hours, days, and weeks passed ... and eventually, the wallet had been unclaimed for nearly a full month: "A month ago a passing customer who forgot a wallet. I didn't know who it belonged to and I never opened it. Someone should have come looking for it, but it has been a month now and no claims have been made yet, "commented Ronald.

Eventually, a 60-year-old lady showed up at Ronald's shop claiming her wallet. The woman burst into tears when Ronald returned it to her intact after all that time and she thanked him enthusiastically. The wallet contained a whopping $ 7,000 dollars - a significant amount of cash, especially in Brazil. "I went to retrieve the wallet and the lady started to cry. She told me that it contained a lot of money and that I had saved her life because it was money that had been saved for something very important," said the greengrocer.
The lady then wanted to reward him by giving him some of the money and, despite Ronald's refusal, he finally got given a small reward.
