Gay couple adopts 5 siblings abandoned by their biological mother: "Love is an act of courage"
We live in a historical moment for our society, where the concept of the family is radically changing. No longer is the concept of family considered to be solely the unit that is created when a father and a mother have a biological or adopted child - now the family is considered to be a nucleus of people sharing mutual affection and can be created and established in very different contexts. For this reason, and given the shifts in social norms, many gay couples are also trying to build a family by adopting children abandoned by their biological parents, and to give them a second chance at finding love and affection.
