Don't believe it? Well, as incredible as the story might seem, it all seems to be the truth.
Here's what the distraught woman on Reddit said, seeking advice and support from Reddit users: "My husband was in a car accident almost a month ago. He was bedridden due to a back injury and I was his nurse, so to speak. The pressure I got from my mother-in-law was unbearable. She kept telling me to take care of him properly and to be with him at all times. She begged me to take time off work to do this, and I did. She also asked me to send her updates on his condition constantly, but when I didn't, she would get angry and cause arguments. She visits every day but does nothing to help. On the contrary, she lists all the things I should or shouldn't do. The family keeps telling me that she is just worried about her son, so I try to stay calm.
A few days ago, she called me to chastise me for not changing the sheets quickly enough - I had no idea how she found out about this as my husband didn't call her. My sister-in-law called to tell me that her mother had installed a camera in the bedroom to see if I was taking care of her son properly. I was stunned, and after searching the room, I found the camera, called my mother-in-law and got into a major fight with her. She admitted it and said she was just worried and she wanted to make sure her son was being taken care of properly. I yelled at her and told her that after this, she was no longer allowed to enter my house. The family called me later to ask me to withdraw the decision, but I told them that she had violated my privacy and took advantage of the situation. They told me that I had taken it too personally and that I cannot blame a worried mother for wanting to make sure his son is okay - especially since she had a list of the things she thought I was doing wrong. "
But things did not end there. The woman continues: "Now my husband is angry, telling me that I am vindictive and that if his mother cannot come over, he will move out to be with her. Now I ask you, what should I do?"
For obvious reasons, most Reddit followers strongly condemned the mother-in-law's actions and showed support for the woman. What advice would you give to this shocked, abused wife?
