This young woman asked her 89-year-old grandmother to attend her wedding as a bridesmaid
Organizing a wedding is not the easiest thing in the world. You have to choose many things and make many decisions: dresses, invitations, location, decorations, restaurant, witnesses and much more. One thing that has remained popular in weddings is the bride having her bridesmaids. Again, the choices to be made here could prove difficult.
Whom to ask to be a bridesmaid? Sisters, friends, cousins or ... grandmothers? Yes, you read that right, grandmothers. And this is a choice for which the subject of this story has opted.
The subject of this story is a woman called Christine Quinn, a newlywed from Pennsylvania who made a rather unusual decision for her wedding day. The young woman had, in fact, chosen to have four bridesmaids - one of which was to be her grandmother. The coolest thing about this? Seeing an 89-year-old lady wearing a beautiful purple dress and flaunting it along with a wonderful smile on the bride's wedding day.
Ms. Betty Govern was delighted to take part in her granddaughter's ceremony acting as a bridesmaid. The bride herself said: "Grandma Betty is one of my closest friends. Who could it have been anyway, if not the person who has known me since I was born and with whom I have a wonderful relationship? She has an incredible sense of humor and a view on life that I try to follow every day and make my own ", the bride explained.
Many times before the wedding, grandmother Betty asked her if she was sure of her choice. She kept telling her that bridesmaids are usually young and beautiful, so why choose her given that she was 89 years old? "For me she is so beautiful. Grandmother is a wonderful person, funny and has an enviable vitality given her age. At the reception she entertained us and delighted us with her stories and her pearls of wisdom", said the woman.
What can we say? This grandmother is certainly a special person and, perhaps, one that each of us would like to have had in our lives. Congratulations to Mrs. Betty for her fortitude and for teaching us the importance of always facing life with a positive attitude. After all, old age is not just a question of have a wide range of experiential data, but also a spiritual insight. You get old when you believe you are old and, apparently, for Grandma Betty, that's not yet the case.
