A healthy and harmonious work environment is certainly the key to having a successful, cohesive and productive long-term work team. Unfortunately, not all entrepreneurs and bosses are so far-sighted to give importance to such a broad vision. And as a result of ignoring this, they risk their employees becoming frustrated and unhappy in their work. The direct consequences of this approach is quite serious and should be one of the first concerns of any "boss". In many jobs, however, it seems that the only practical solution is for the employees to leave and find a better job. And that's what Reddit user, "AnonEngineer2676", did. On Reddit, this user recounted his work experience in order to get an opinion of his followers.

When things become unsustainable, you don't have to endure at at any cost: giving up and admitting that the time has come for a change of scenery is just fine. The subject of this story told of having always being treated badly by his boss, even going so far as to have anxiety attacks whenever he saw his boss' name come up on his mobile phone screen. "What does he want now?" the employee wondered, "Surely he's going to yell at me on the phone and blame me for some mistake he has made himself."

The description that the employee makes his boss, is certainly not the most flattering. First of all, this boss always forced the employee to take on new tasks, often outside his comfort zone; he never accepted the employee's suggestions for improvements; he often made the employee work outside of his normal working hours and; finally, always stressed that the employee should feel flattered to be working for his company and that even if he tried hard, he would never find another job as good as this one. The employee, tired of the constant abuse, eventually proved the opposite.

The employee was handling his abusive work situation very badly, so he decided that he would try to make a change. Although his tyrannical boss had tried to belittle his abilities, the man held several interviews over the course of a month, eventually receiving 10 job offers. Among these, the most tempting promised him an annual income far in excess of his current salary (about $ 40,000 more per year). And, above all, the new job would have a boss who respected and treated him like a normal person. In short, the man willingly signed the offer for this new job and submitted his resignation - resigning from his old, abusive job.

Many followers have suggested that he should only resign when he was absolutely certain that he had been given another job, but in general they expressed their solidarity with the employee and wished him good luck.

It is not easy to recover from the psychological damage done by working in an abusive work environment, but it is necessary to take the situation in hand so that vital changes can be made in good time.
