Traveling is always a unique experience because, in addition to visiting new places, discovering the world and enriching one's cultural background, a new encounter with someone means meeting a stranger who, at times, manages to give us the lift of spirits we may have needed. Maybe this doesn't happen to everyone, but the little child in this story had exactly this type of experience.

Lena is a little girl and was on a trip with her family when, during her nap, she lost one of her baby teeth. Upset by losing the tooth on the plane, the little girl was "assisted" by a very kind pilot. Let's see what this man did for little Lena.

Little 6-year-old Lena was on her way from New York to South Carolina when, lying on a seat asleep, she lost one of her baby teeth. Unaware of what had happened, the little girl only realized she had a gap between her teeth when she had already got off the plane. Despite a 36-hour flight delay and the long trip itself, Lena and her mother, Lauren Larmon, tried to get back on the plane to look for the lost tooth.

Unfortunately, the security doors that allowed access were closed and it was no longer possible to get back on the plane. This really upset little girl who, by now, was convinced that the tooth fairy would be angry with her. At this point, a special person intervened.

Witness to everything that was happening, the pilot of the plane, Captain Josh Duchow, approached Lena and proposed that she write a letter to send to the fairy to explain the situation. The man knelt beside her and started writing, "Dear Tooth Fairy, Lena lost a tooth on a flight to Greenville. Please accept this note instead of her tooth." This was a very nice gesture that reassured the little girl and showed the kind heart of the pilot. He could have looked the other way and walked out of the airport, but instead, he had stopped and tried to make the little child happy.

Such a beautiful gesture could hardly remain a secret, so Lauren took some photos of the moment and shared them on Facebook, along with a message in which she thanks Captain Josh for what he did. The even coolest thing for Lena was also receiving an answer from the tooth fairy: "Hi Lena, it's okay that you lost your tooth on the plane, I'll get it back."

A little white lie told to all the little ones: that of a fairy who takes baby teeth and leaves money under our pillows. Who among us hasn't believe in the tooth fairy when we were young? Who hasn't put baby teeth under their pillows during their youthful years?

But few have met someone like Captain Josh who helped Lean out with her "serious" tooth fairy problem. If we think about it, however, we too have received something important from this kindly pilot: a life lesson that reminds us how important it is to do good deeds for others - big or small, young or old, strangers or not.
