The first day of kindergarten is a crucial stage in a child's life. This is the first real step towards achieving independence. Unlike nursery school, the child begins to learn to socialize with their peers and to pay attention to the first educational, albeit playful, activities.

A 5 year old girl started her first day of kindergarten in an unforgettable way. The little girl was accompanied by a group of police officers from Tennessee, in the United States, in a very significant show of affection: they were all colleagues of her father who had passed away.

Officers from the La Vergne Police Department arrived at the little girl's home on 20 motorcycles and accompanied Anna Stolinsky to her first day of school. This moving gesture was made to honor her father, Sergeant Kevin Stolinsky, who died prematurely of a heart attack while on duty. "I was leafing through a book when I saw that the policemen had arrived," said the little girl. Casey, Anna's mother, was aware of the plan (organized by her brother-in-law, David Stolinsky - also a police officer).

The woman said that she and her daughter then accepted a ride from Lieutenant David Durham. It was an emotional journey for Casey, as the Lieutenant was the same person who had accompanied them to the hospital the night Casey's husband passed away. "He was the one who took us to the hospital the night we got the call about Kevin. I sat on that same seat," she commented.

Today was the first day of kindergarten for Anna Stolinsky, daughter of La Vergne Police Lt. Kevin Stolinsky who passed away on November 12, 2021. In honor of her father and in support of her family, Anna and her mom were given a police escort to school and then were surrounded by officers from multiple departments as she made her way to the front doors. Anna even went back to give each of the officers a high five to thank them for helping her get to school safely.

Upon their arrival at the school, the family was greeted by a group of officers ready to cheer Anna on as she entered the building. The police department also shared a video of the tender moment on its Facebook page. "Today was the first day of kindergarten for Anna Stolinsky, daughter of La Vergne police lieutenant Kevin Stolinsky, who passed away on November 12, 2021," they wrote in the caption.

"In honor of her father and in support of her family, Anna and her mother were escorted to school by the police and surrounded by officers from different departments as she headed for the front doors. The little girl even returned to thank the officers for helping her get to school safely," the caption continued. Casey thanked the entire department for the gesture: "It was amazing: they honored Anna's dad all over the world."

This was an admirable gesture and a demonstration of respect that moved the entire web.
