Mother accompanies her son to school after a 12-hour work shift and hears rude comments from other mothers: "She stinks"
Although any type of work deserves respect and you can generally choose your profession, it is also true that many people get "no real choice": sometimes, accepting a grinding job that is beneath one's skills and aptitudes is necessary to survive. The reason, then, is purely economic. And so, we find parents who struggle to provide their children with the bare essentials to live without hardship. This is the story of a hardworking mom who, after spending a 12-hour shift at her factory, overheard rude comments about herself while she was dropping off her son at school.

This mother posted her story on the Mumsnet forum after hearing a very unpleasant comment directed at her as she waited, along with other parents, for her son to enter his school. The woman is one of those mothers who work tirelessly, together with her husband, to guarantee a dignified future for her family. That morning, she had accompanied her son to school, without having had the opportunity to first change her work clothes. The woman works in the factory and often works night shifts. Considering that her son enters school at 8:45 am, it is not strange this mother was still in her factory overalls:
"The other day I was waiting, along with other parents, for the teacher to open the door. Then I heard a mother say to another that I stank. It bothered me, but I didn't say anything. The worst part is that women like these don't even work. They drop their kids off at school and then God knows what they do. They have no idea what a 12-hour shift in a factory is like. They don't know how hard my husband and I have worked to get where we are. I don't want my son to be made fun of at school because he has parents who stink. It's very annoying. I can't change my clothes after work all the time because I simply just don't have time some days."

Many users came out in support of the offended woman. She herself described her why others might smell something from her: "I clean the machinery in a meat factory and it takes more than just wet wipes to clean everything. I wear overalls at work, but the smell can cling and linger - it's simply the nature of the job".
