Buying a home nowadays is really challenging and can be prohibitively expensive for a lot of people. Prices for apartments are skyrocketing, especially the central areas of large cities. It seems that in order to become a homeowner these days, it is necessary to move to an isolated spot. And the proposal from an Italian village seems, perhaps, in line with this reality: 30,000 euros as a gift to anyone who moves to the small village. The village of Presicce, in Puglia, is one of the hidden wonders of southern Italy that is slowly being abandoned. Today's hectic life, consumerism and non-stop work have forced most people to move to big cities, where everything is close to hand and where better job opportunities are. The result of this trend is the progressive depopulation of those towns and villages that do not have much to offer the youth. But these places are real treasures to be appreciated. It is with this fact in mind, that the administration of Presicce has decided to donate 30,000 euros to anyone who will buy one of the houses for sale in the village and will take up residence here. Basically, it's a project to repopulate the dying village.

To entice potential buyers even more, is the low price of homes: for just 25,000 euros, in fact, you can buy a house. In which other metropolis would you ever find such a bargain?

This re-population project is a very well-structured marketing operation, with a commendable purpose: to bring the village back to life. The city councilor explained the initiative as follows: "There are too many empty houses in the historic center of the village. We would like to see the village full of people again. It is a shame to see our historic neighborhoods slowly emptying out, allowing delapidation and decay to take over. For this reason, we will offer up to 30,000 euros to anyone willing to buy one of these abandoned homes".
