Woman gives birth to a baby so "big" that she looks like a 6-month-old child

Becoming a mother is a dream for many women. The arrival of a baby is always eagerly awaited by parents, grandparents, relatives and friends. For Jodie Baines, her daughter Aria Tayler wasn't her first pregnancy, but it was certainly the most notable in terms of the labor and Aria's birth weight. Jodie, in fact, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl after many hours of labor: a baby that was over 5 kg in weight and ready for clothes for infants aged 6 to 9 months!

Jodie said it had a difficult pregnancy, especially as she was confined to bed by her huge belly. Her belly had gotten so big, that people who saw her thought she was pregnant with twins. After 25 hours of labor, however, Jodie gave birth to little Aria Taylor at 00:31 on August 6, 2022. "Little" being a relative term, given that Aria weighed over 5 kg and had to be dressed in clothes for children aged 6 to 9 months.

"She was already big and very heavy when she was born. People said I looked like I was carrying around a six-month-old before she was just born," Jodie said. The pregnancy was not easy either: "In the end I couldn't get out of bed," said the 25-year-old mother, who then recounted the difficulties of the childbirth: "Now I look back, and I don't know how I managed to bring deliver her naturally". Jodie had to wait for 42 weeks before doctors decided to induce the birth and she went into labor for 25 hours before giving birth to a healthy and robust baby girl at Preston hospital in Lancashire (UK).

"I didn't really realize how big she was until they weighed her," Jodie said.

When out with her, many people, especially at first, couldn't believe Aria was a new-born baby: most assumed she was at least a few months old! But despite her "gigantism", Aria is a dream baby, who sleeps 7 hours straight a day - just like a little angel.
