Evicted, this mother spends the night in a car with her children: a good Samaritan leaves a note offering to help them
The global economic crisis has not been easy for many people, especially for those who rent and who risk eviction if they cannot pay. This problem also hit Yvonne, a single mom from Baltimore, USA. The young woman has a job, but she suddenly found herself unable to pay the rent and became homeless overnight, along with her children.

Yvonne used the last of her money to store her belongings and had to spend the night in her car with her children, parking in the parking lot of a supermarket. During the evening, a passerby noticed the mother with her two children and decided to leave a note on the windshield of the car, offering help.
The next morning, Yvonne read the note, which mentioned an organization that can help raise funds for housing in emergencies like hers. The note contained the Instagram contact details of Shelly Tygielski, the founder of a self-help community. Yvonne then proceeded to contact Shelly, hoping to get help.

Shelly replied by asking Yvonne what she needed and she replied that she needed to find a safe and warm place near her children's school. At this point, Shelly created a post on Instagram (IG), starting a fundraiser, while in the meantime she organized a room for Yvonne and her children at a Holiday Inn for a month.
Thanks to Shelly's help, Yvonne quickly got her life back under control. After a few days, the fundraiser was so successful that Yvonne was able to pay the advance on the rental of a new house. Thanks to the help of IG users, this young mother was able to get her life back on track. Deeply touched by the generosity of those who donated, Shelly also posted a thank you message from Yvonne: "I'm so relieved, so elated. Yvonne and her family are immensely grateful and I too thank each and every one of you because we not only achieved our goal, we exceeded it by far."
