Whole school pays tribute to retiring teacher: 'I am moved' (+VIDEO)
After decades of honored service, many people are finally able to reach the coveted retirement. It is a bittersweet moment, in which one can finally devote time to oneself and to a peaceful old age, but at the same time it makes one say goodbye to a daily routine followed for so many years, including time spent with lifelong colleagues. Professor Nacho Zomeño, a teacher who just spent his last day on the job before retiring, knows something about this. The man was melancholic, but the entire school organized an emotional tribute for him, to say the least.

After concluding his last class, Professor Zomeño walked out of his classroom and was met with an epic scene. The entire institution was there waiting to greet him: students and teachers lined the school's hallways to beyond the courtyard and raised their pens as a "sign of respect among fellow faculty members." Immediately afterwards, they greeted the professor with warm applause. The teacher flashed a big smile that showed a mixture of emotions between nostalgia and commotion.
Upon reaching the gate, the professor noticed that there was a small table waiting for him, along with a large basket of flowers. Intrigued, he sat down and immediately all the teachers handed over their pens in a small box. Each colleague handed over his pen, thanking him for his work and support over the years. The magical moment was captured in a video shared on Twitter, which garnered more than 70,000 views and moved hundreds of people, who immediately made comments.
Dozens of users were impressed by the affection the teacher received and expressed their congratulations in the comments section, "He must have been a great teacher to have such a warm greeting. Congratulations on your retirement!" wrote a girl.
"Wow, what a wonderful surprise. This makes me understand even more why my father was a professor and was so loved by his colleagues and students," one user commented. "What a touching gesture! There is still good in this world," said another.
Surely Professor Zomeño will have returned home with the full knowledge that he did an exemplary job, enjoying his well-deserved rest knowing that he is appreciated and loved by his former colleagues and students.
