Man is forced to compensate his ex-wife $200,000 for 25 years of domestic work (+VIDEO)
Getting married is a wish shared by many, but starting a family and taking care of the house is no longer considered to be women's work exclusively. Starting a family does not mean adopting antiquated, stereotypical, gender-defined roles. Adopting a specific role should be a choice, not an obligation.
Fortunately, times are changing and gender role assignment is becoming a thing of the past. Yet, from time to time, we learn of conflict caused by push-back against modern trends in marital relationships. And this is what happened to the subject of this story.

This all took place in Velez-Malaga, in southern Spain, where Ivana Moral was at the center of a battle that she eventually won. Starting in 2020, Ivana was locked in a legal battle with her now ex-husband, trying to get her rights recognized. The two got married in 1995 and Ivana had never worked a job - aside from being a housewife, of course.
According to Ivana, her ex had always wanted her to take care of the home and the children, while he was busy building an empire of gym clubs. Over the years,Ivana had accepted the situation and she had never complained. Taking care of the home, the children and occasionally helping out in reception was fine for her for years. But then, things changed...
No longer getting along, the couple decided to divorce. But since they were sharing their home, Ivana would be left with nothing but half of the property. At this point Ivana decided to stand up for herself.
"I had spent years supporting him, helping him, raising our daughters and I had nothing to show for it. So, I made a stand and demanded compensation for all the work I had done over 25 years of marriage". And luckily, Ivana got what she deserved.
A court ruled that Ivana's ex pay her $200,000 dollars, as well as giving her a pension and maintenance for their young daughters.
The woman's lawyer, Marta Fuentes, argued how important this victory was - not only for her client, but for women everywhere going through what Ivana had.
Certainly, people don't get married to get rich quick, but if a woman has spent her whole life supporting her husband and taking care of the home, she deserves compensation if things don't work out.
