Marina Balmasheva, 38, is a well-known Russian influencer who caused a scandal by falling in love with her stepson. The woman was previously married to 47-year-old Alexey Shavyrin, with whom she had started a family. The couple, in addition to taking care of little Vladimir Shavyrin - who was then 7 years old and from Alexey's previous marriage - decided to expand their family by adopting 5 children. Destiny, however, had other plans for this family.
As time passed and Vladimir grew older, the bond between stepmother and stepson got stronger, until they finally fell in love with each other. Apparently, the relationship between while Marina was still married to Alexey, and it was the discovery of this betrayal that led to the collapse of Marina's marriage to Alexey.
"My marriage to Alexey was a lie," Marina stated. Alexey didn't take the situation very well at all - not so much for the betrayal itself, but for the fact that his wife had seduced her stepson.
Notwithstanding this, things between Marina and Vladimir seem to be going well. The two are very happy in their relationship and now have two wonderful children together. Marina often posts to social media about the relationship she has with her current husband: how charming he is with his beautiful blue eyes, but also about how he can be a bit selfish at times.
Marina's life choices are, to say the least, somewhat unusual and for this reason, there is a heated debate around whether or not this type of relationship is socially acceptable or not.
What do you think: were these two wrong to fall in love and start a family?
