After 40 years of living together, two 80-year-olds decide to get married (+VIDEO)

We often hear that we will find our soul mate, it's just a matter of time. But true love is not easy to find and after years of "searching" you might even give up. But when true love comes along, it turns life upside down (in a good way, of course).

This is what happened to the two wonderful subjects of this story: a man and a woman who have lived side by side for almost half a century and who, after the many years that have passed, finally decided to swear eternal love to each other.

The couple are Genoveva Romero Encinas, 86, and Francisco Maldonado Valenzuela, 88 - both Mexican citizens, who have moved web users with their show of love. After 40 years of living together, and at a fairly advanced age, the two realised that the time had come to seal their relationship with a solemn promise.

The two chose to get married and organized to hold the ceremony. The event took place at the parish of San Pedro de la Cueva, where thousands turned up to witness the great event and accompany the couple in their celebration.

Radiant and clearly in love, the betrothed turned up in very elegant wedding attire: Don Francisco wore a black suit complete with a bow tie, while Doña Beba wore a beautiful white dress with a very long train. The decorations, the bouquets and all the other details transformed the ceremony into a magical moment.

Beba was walked down the aisle by her brother, José Jesús Romero Encinas, all smiles and radiating happiness.

Finding true love is not a myth and these two 80-year-olds have proved this to us. They hadn't felt the need to take this big step beforehand and waited forty years to get there - but in the end, they chose to unite not only spiritually but also legally.

This story gives us hope that we will also find our true loves, no? And we wish this couple all the best in their new lives as husband and wife.
