When a relationship gets serious and you think you have met your soul mate, it is normal to look to the future and start planning a life together, in the same home. But unfortunately, it is not that simple: renting or buying a home is increasingly expensive and so, there are few people who can afford it this without running into financial challenges.
The couple in this story is no exception, but they had no intention of applying for a mortgage to fulfill their dream of home ownership. They found a unique solution to their problems and with nothing short of amazing results!

Jamie and Dave are a young couple from Washington DC and have decided to change their lives: they sold their property in Vancouver to buy the home of their dreams.
The home is set in a rural area, surronded by nature: "When we bought the land, it was basically just a goat path along the side of the mountain", they described.
The purchase of the land was, of course, only the first step in their extraordinary, unconventional project.

Their idea was as "strange" as it was unique: to build a fully-functioning house from two shipping containers.
To this end, they put one container on top of the other, later creating a two-story house. It wasn't easy and there were numerous obstacles to overcome - some completely unexpected and quite challenging.
Primarily this is because during the construction work - which they had estimated would last about 10 months - Dave got very sick.

But Jamie never gave up.
She remained at Dave's side and by pulling together, he made a full recovery.
The couple, more united than ever, then returned to work and finished building their astonishing home.

It is now a two-story house equipped with every creature comfort: they even have a fireplace in their small sitting room.
Their kitchen is perhaps the most surprising area: it's really spacious and is equipped with the latest appliances! Their dining room can accommodate up to 6 people, proving suitable for any occasion.
Of course, there is also the bathroom with a walk-in shower and this too is spacious. Finally, on the upper floor there is a real "gem".

Their bedroom, which is in an elevated position, seems to be completely immersed in wild nature: the large windows illuminate the room during the day and offers a breathtaking view. The trees outside perfectly frame the whole environment, giving the feeling of being cradled in their branches.
As if this weren't enough, the couple also has a small balcony where the can have a meal in the open air.
A truly magical setting. But there is still one aspect that we have not delved into yet:
The complete silence. The calm. There are no noises - other than natural ones: no traffic or noise, loud music or other "urban auditory pollution".
Their little "jewel" is truly a place of peace and tranquility.
Jamie and Dave have faced many difficulties together, but have always emerged as winners. Now, they can kick back and enjoy their "oasis" of peace and tranquility.
